Dr. Woong-chul Yang received B.S in mechanical engineering design from Seoul National University and M.S in mechanical engineering from University of Texas, Arlington. He became a Ph.D in mechanical engineering from University of California, Davis in 1986. He joined Hyundai Motor Group as a head of its Electronics Development Center in 2004. He has established Eco Technology Development Center to develop all hybrids, EVs, and FCEVs for Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Motors. He has been a Vice Chairman and CTO at Hyundai Motor Group since 2009. Dr. Yang has significantly contributed to making Hyundai a global leader in Eco-friendly vehicle technology and eco-conscious markets.
