As part of the BreatheLife campaign, UN Environment and ICLEI are organising the ‘BreatheLife Cities Breakfast Roundtable’ at the 8th Sustainable Innovation Forum. With Cities all around the world increasingly committing to sustainable development, the Roundtable brings together City Mayors driving innovation, ideas and solutions to commit on action against air pollution.

A host of city Mayors will convene to exchange best practice, network and collaborate over a Roundtable Discussion moderated by UN Environment and ICLEI. Handpicked private sector representatives, media and NGOs will be invited to attend the session and participate at the Q&A. The roundtable will be followed by the press announcement of ICLEI cities joining the campaign. 

The session is set to discuss the how city authorities can drive transformative policy to ensure clean air in their cities while reducing climate emissions, the role of private sector and global organizations, like UN and ICLEI.

The Breakfast Roundtable will be attended by, but not limited to:

  • Erik Solheim, Executive Director of UN Environment,
  • Ashok-Alexander Sridharan, Mayor of the City of Bonn
  • Bertrand Piccard, Initiator, Chairman and Pilot, Solar Impulse

As well as a host of Mayors, Private Sector CEOs and media.

The session takes place on the 14th November 2017, at the Climate Action Dome between 7.45am – 8.45am. Access to this Breakfast session is by invitation only. 

The conclusions from the Breakfast Roundtable will be addressed at the Welcome Keynote that will be delivered by Ashok-Alexander Sridharan, Mayor of the City of Bonn as well as the Sustainable, Liveable Cities panel discussion following the Keynote.

The BreatheLife campaign will be presented by Erik Solheim during his Speech on the 13th November at 15.30. Erik will be joined by a surprise speaker! The Governing Mayor of Oslo, Raymond Johanson, will present on the City’s action plan to combat air pollution and his commitment to the BreatheLife Campaign. A panel discussion on Addressing the International Clean Air Crisis will follow those sessions.
