Salvador Samitier’s expertise lies in the following areas: management of ecolabelling schemes of products and services, environmental management systems (ISO 14001 and EMAS) and LCA. With time, his responsibilities expanded to BATs (Best Available Technologies), IPP (Integrated Product policy), environmental liability and REACH, taken part of different committees and working groups at the Catalan, Spanish and European level.
Since September 1st 2009, he has been the Head of the Catalan Office of Climate Change. This Office was created in 2006 and its objective is to promote, within the framework of European and international commitments and agreements, policies to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases (GHG) and the vulnerability of Catalan society, in cooperation with all stakeholders and evaluate its implementation.
