Mr. Ehrnrooth is a respected Finnish business leader and an ambassador for the sustainable development of the world’s forests, in the context of the emerging bioeconomy. Since graduating with a M.Sc. in Forest Economics from the University of Helsinki, Mr. Ehrnrooth started his professional career in Pöyry in 1979 as an economist. He went on to become partner and co-owner of Jaakko Pöyry Oy before being appointed as President and CEO of the company in August 1986. Today, Mr. Ehrnrooth is Chairman of the Board of three organisations - Pöyry PLC, an international consulting and engineering company with deep global expertise in the energy and industry sectors. Otava Group Ltd, a leading Finnish graphic publisher, whose main business areas include books, trade and magazines. Climate Leadership Council, that has an overarching goal to actively participate in the mitigation of climate change. He is also a Member of the Board of the Marcus Wallenberg Foundation. Previous positions also include Chairman of the Board of YIT Corporation, Finland’s largest residential construction company and Chairman of the Board of Caverion Corporation, who design, build and maintain user-friendly and energy-efficient building systems.
